Barwise Terms of Use

Effective November 2, 2026

No. 01What you get

Barwise lets you keep a list of the bottles and mixers on your home bar, add them by typing, by voice, by a Shortcuts phrase or after taking a shelf photo, ask an AI drink coach for a recipe that fits that stock, save the recipes you approve, give quick feedback (too sweet, more sour, stronger), and export a drink card to Photos.

Barwise is not a shop, delivery service, bartending course, nutrition or medical tool, and it does not identify bottles from photos automatically: suggested labels after a scan are prompts you can accept or ignore.

No. 02Who may use it and how

  • You may use Barwise only if you are at least the legal drinking age in your country or region. If alcohol is not legal for you, do not use the app.
  • Drink responsibly. Follow local laws about alcohol, and do not use Barwise to encourage excessive or dangerous drinking.
  • Do not use the drink coach to create unlawful, harmful or abusive content, or try to misuse or overload the AI service.

No. 03Your bar list and recipes

Bottle names, photos, saved recipes and feedback you create remain yours and are stored on your device. Because there is no account or cloud backup in Barwise, you are responsible for your device and for keeping any copies you want; deleting the app deletes this data. When you use the drink coach, you allow Barwise to send the request described in the Privacy Policy to DeepSeek so it can return a draft.

No. 04Purchases

The current version of Barwise has no in-app purchases or subscriptions. If paid features are added later, their price and terms will be shown in the App Store before you buy, and purchases will be handled by Apple.

No. 05Apple’s terms

Barwise is licensed to you through the App Store under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which applies together with these terms. Apple is not responsible for the app or its support and has no obligation to maintain it. If a term here conflicts with Apple’s standard terms, Apple’s terms apply to that point.

No. 06Availability and changes

Your bar list and saved recipes work offline. The drink coach needs an internet connection and depends on DeepSeek being available; it may be slow, return an empty or unusable draft, or be unavailable. We may change, improve or remove features in updates.

No. 07Intellectual property

The Barwise app, its name, artwork and built-in recipe instructions belong to the developer. You may use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. Drink cards you export are yours to keep and share; brand names of drinks you add belong to their owners.

No. 08Recipes, safety and limits of responsibility

Coach recipes are generated automatically and may contain mistakes, unrealistic measurements, unsafe combinations or ingredients you are allergic to. Always read a draft before you tap Use this recipe, check labels for allergens, and adjust strength to your own limits. Alcohol affects people differently; do not rely on Barwise for advice about health, medication, pregnancy, or whether it is safe for you to drink or drive.

To the extent permitted by law, Barwise is provided “as is”, and the developer is not liable for losses caused by relying on generated recipes, by lost on-device data, or by third-party services. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.

No. 09Ending use, updates to these terms, contact

You can stop using Barwise at any time by deleting it. We may update these terms when the app changes and will post the new version here with a new effective date; continuing to use the app after that means you accept the update. Questions:
